QRunSvMgr
Qt6 Running Services Manager
System services manager
qrunsvmgr is a lightweight graphical interface for managing system services. It lets you easily start, stop, and monitor services.
Features
- Start, stop, and restart services
- Enable and disable services
- View service logs
- Live status monitoring
- Search and filter services
- Manage user services
- Multiple backends
Backends
qrunsvmgr was originally built exclusively for runit. Thanks to its IPC design, the GUI works with any backend that speaks the same protocol.
- Runit
- Dinit (requires libdinitctl)
- Systemd (requires dbus)
[!NOTE] This program does not rely on the system
svcommand for runit. It includes its own implementation for managing runit services directly.
[!NOTE] Have you written a backend? Let me know by opening an issue that links to your repository, or submit a PR if you’d like it to become part of
qrunsvmgr.
Building
git clone https://codeberg.org/itszariep/qrunsvmgr
cd qrunsvmgr
cmake -B build
cmake --build build
This produces the following binaries:
qrunsvmgr: a launcher script that detects your init system and starts the matching helperqrunsvmgr-qt: the Qt GUI (requires a helper to work)qrunsvmgr-helper-runit,qrunsvmgr-helper-dinit,qrunsvmgr-helper-systemd: the backend helpers (depending on which are enabled)
Enabling or disabling backends
Pass these options to cmake when configuring:
cmake -B build -DBUILD_DINIT_HELPER=ON -DBUILD_RUNIT_HELPER=ON
| Option | Default |
|---|---|
-DBUILD_RUNIT_HELPER=ON/OFF | ON |
-DBUILD_DINIT_HELPER=ON/OFF | OFF |
-DBUILD_SYSTEMD_HELPER=ON/OFF | OFF |
Setup
Runit
Configure the runit service paths to match your system. See the Runit paths wiki page for details.
